If It Goes Bang It Goes Here

Scout Rifle

I recently discovered the concept of the Scout Rifle and it has intrigued me. Developed by the late LtCol Jeff Cooper it was meant to be the "one rifle to have if you could only have one rifle."

The idea is that it's a bolt action rifle with a 10 round detachable box magazine, M1 style peep sights and a rail for a forward mounted scope, also a threaded barrel for a suppressor or a compensator. Typically between 6-8 pounds and no more than 40 inches long. Also chambered typically in .308 but variants are showing up in 5.56 and 6.5mm

This is the Savage Model 11 Scout, I plan to buy one of these very soon.
