Upcoming Zombie Movies

Postby mission_survivor » Sun Aug 30, 2015 6:42 am

I remember reading a while back that Arnold was gonna be in a zombie flick, titled Maggie. I kinda forgot about it (totally forgot about it).
It apparently had a limited release in the US, May 8, 2015 and DVD release July 7th. Did anyone see it?
It is available at Redbox (I just googled it).

I also missed Dead Rising: Watchtower (streaming on Crackle since March, it is still available).

Did anyone hear about Extinction (another limited release film)? It will be available on DVD and Digital HD September 1, 2015

So I wanted to make a thread for upcoming zombie films.

September 4th, another limited release is Contracted: Phase II (if you haven't watched the first part, I recomend it).

October 30th, has Arnold's son Patrick is in Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

There are a few other movies that I need to confirm are zombie films, but first I am gonna watch Dead Rising: Watchtower
Most of my comments should be read with your best "BROCK SAMSON" voice. While others should be read with your best "CLINT EASTWOOD" voice. A few, and I mean a very few should be read with your best "JOE PESCI" voice.

Nice list! Now I will have to add them to my Netflix queue. I can't believe I forgot about "Maggie"---it seems to be more about his relationship with his daughter than fighting an apocalypse, but I will watch it none-the-less.

@ZB - Yeah, Maggie seems to be a more intimate and dramatic view during the z-poc.

Bite - It might just be an infection movie.

The Hive - Not a zombie flick (alien), but I do like how creepy they look.

So far I have seen Extinction and Maggie.

Extinction was pretty good--a bit slow--but I liked the idea behind it. There was more action near the end of the movie. I wish they had followed the course of the infection a little more in the beginning--the opening scene was pretty intense!

Maggie was a good movie, but not if you are expecting to see lots of zombies and gore. More of a personal story of a father's enduring love for his daughter. The acting was good, but the pacing dragged a bit.

Maggie was interesting, but very slow. Yes, it was more of a dramatic view than action (maybe 2 scenes).
Pacing was horribly slow, I might have dozed of a few (to be read as several) times.
But I DID like it...
I'm not sure if I would have watched it if zombies were not involved, though.

Overall Stagger Rating on a scale of 5 is :stagger: :stagger:

1 waste of time
2 it was okay
3 like it and recommend it
4 really like it
5 almost perfect

Dead Rising: Watchtower - OSR :stagger: :stagger:
Campy and fun.
