B.O.B. What's In Your Bag?

Postby zombreach » Thu Nov 21, 2013 9:48 am

Each of us has certain needs/wants that are particular to our environment, ailments, or desires. In addition to these items, what else should go into a BOB?

Please list items that are essential for every pack. (List one item or several--it's your choice.)

1) Medical kit: (Important medications to have on hand.)
Pain reliever
Diarrhea medicine
Antibiotic (oral and topical)
Antihistamine

Flint and steel
Pocket sized referance books (1 old school boyscout, 1 for plants, 1 for animal tracks, 1 book of old school recipes)
1 camel back
6 stick flares or chemlights (both have advantages and disadvantages)
3 burped MREs
1 trash bag liner (to line the inside of your BOB)
1 small container of tinder
1 FAK (for initial injuries until you can get enough natural ingredients collected)
1 handgun with some additional magazines and additional ammo
A warrior's worst enemy is peace. -unknown

A knife. Preferably a fixed blade and maybe a folder for backup.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said "I need a caretaker."
So God made a farmer.

I have three knives, a folder a fixed blade and a multi tool.
Two fire starting methods.
Small backpacker's solid fuel burning stove and pot with fuel for boiling water.
He who wears the cloth, will always wear the cloth, and those that wear the cloth will always have a brother in me.
